Course Overview

In Part 1 comes the first work in treatment—attunement and stabilization. We review the neuroscience behind the simple interventions that set the client at ease.

From there, we look for precise milestones indicating readiness for the next step. Each milestone leads to a next. Learn to track the growing autonomic abilities—like affect tolerance, decreased habits of negative affect, and a naturally grounding impulse toward the here-and-now through Orientation—connecting to the environment through the senses.

It’s an exciting journey of many (and mini) steps that lead reliably to surprising developments for our clients—and more ease for their therapist!

In Part 2 we learn to recognize the client’s readiness to integrate unconscious self-organizing states in image, sensation, Orientation, meaning and affect (ISOMA). These organizing states emerge spontaneously if there’s sufficient Orientation.

They have one surprising characteristic in common: positive valence. From a gentle rocking, to a look out the window, participants will learn how to match each of these states to the moment of the client’s maximal readiness. This creates growth of autonomic bandwidth and with it comes greater confidence with intensities in all ISOMAs—and thus more feeling of ease and readiness for living.

Part 3 brings all the OI frameworks and therapeutic work together under one integrated scientific roof. From dynamical systems theory to clinical psychology, course participants will see again why the OI tools, that can seem so natural, are so powerful in catalyzing life affirming change.

Through direct experience, participants will see how clients’ systems—unbeknownst to them—are insistently bringing gifts of healing. The therapist/coach’s job is simply to point out these gifts, arising from within the clients themselves, at the time when the client is ready to recognize and receive them.

Eliza Meadows has 18 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Organic Intelligence® Coach, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher, and Certified Nutritionist.
