iACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS:
Hello! I'm Shereen. Belize, my beloved birthplace, has shaped me in profound ways, and its essence will forever reside within me. But life had a different path in store for me, and in 2006, I embarked on a bold adventure that led me to Phoenix, AZ. This desert oasis became my new home, and it's in this landscape that I've nurtured and continued growing my roots.
As a psychotherapist, I specialize in guiding individuals on a journey of reconnecting with their true essence, helping them embrace life with a newfound sense of ease and acceptance. Picture yourself sitting with a warm and nurturing granny or auntie, whose love for you knows no bounds. In her presence, you feel an overwhelming sense of unconditional acceptance, knowing deep in your heart that she only wishes the very best for you. That's the kind of support and care I strive to provide.
My utmost goal is to meet you wherever you are on your life's journey and assist you in moving seamlessly and effortlessly towards your next juncture. I am fully committed to providing psychotherapy to adults who are grappling with depression, anxiety, and trauma. Additionally, I offer psychedelic integration therapy to adults who have had non-ordinary experiences from psychedelics, ketamine, plant medicines, meditation and breath work.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree in Social Work, I have accumulated eight years of experience in the field. Over the course of my professional life, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and groups, gaining a diverse range of insights and expertise. My approach is integrative, drawing upon various modalities of therapy to assist individuals in reaching their unique goals. These modalities include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, parts work, Ecotherapy, Organic Intelligence (OI), Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, as well as mindfulness and somatic-based practices. It is worth mentioning that I am currently a trainee in psychedelic-assisted therapy with the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, and I will begin Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) in September 2023. My therapeutic approach is characterized by warmth, unwavering support, and humor.
Read more +Rooted Alma has its roots deeply embedded in the rich tapestry of my lineage and the wisdom passed down by my ancestors who traversed this planet. They held a profound connection to nature and carried a deep wellspring of wisdom within them. Rooted Alma pays homage to my dear granny, Alma May Thompson Tucker, a remarkable woman born and raised in the charming coastal town of Dangriga in Belize. Her spirit and influence continue to guide me on this journey.
Rooted Alma is more than just a name; it symbolizes my ongoing quest to live mindfully, fully present, and intricately intertwined within the web of life. The cornerstone of my work lies in fostering presence—wholeheartedly immersing oneself in the present moment. Rooted Alma seeks to embody this concept, offering unwavering support to individuals as they tap into their innate healing capacities and access the profound collective intelligence that envelops us all.
I'm thrilled that you've taken the time to learn more about me and my practice. Currently, I am licensed to provide therapy in Arizona (LCSW-18880) and in Colorado (CSW-09929263).
