Coaches & Healers

There’s a clear, step-by-step framework that catalyzes biological organization—the long-sought-after answer to autonomic dysregulation, which is the root of trauma.

Healthcare Professionals

An array of symptoms trace back to dysregulation, or disautonomia. Once understood, simple PTG tools begin to stabilize a patient’s entire presentation…so the work can begin.

Career Changers

If you want to make a meaningful difference, this course introduces you to the curriculum and mindset that will give you the skills and necessary confidence. The OI understanding of trauma and organic healing will unite your personal and professional journey.

Bodyworkers & Practitioners

Upgrade your current practice with science-backed methods that honor the body’s wisdom. Learn the conversational methods that make you a sustainable resource for clients. Help them experience their own self-organization—whether hands on or off.

Meditators & Activists

Healing polarization is of the essence. The union of doing and Being are found in this method of therapeutic inclusivity. Find how to understand what is arising in clients as aspects of their deepest wisdom—the shared legacy of us all.

" Trauma means unintegrated resource. That means we already have what we need. We just need to recognize our self-healing signals that are coming our way nonstop."

What You'll Learn

Neuroscience points to the centrality of Orientation, which OI defines as “connecting to the environment through the senses.” Orientation, when presented at the optimal moment, creates the neural foundation for the entirety of OI’s positive reinforcement framework. In this section, Steve cites the science behind the developmental milestones that lead to the essence of Post-Trauma Growth: biological Auto-Organization. Included are a host of stabilization tools to use both personally and professionally.

Citing the research of positive psychology and complexity science, the timing of interventions that turn helpful states into lasting traits is discussed. Because we are humans, we are sensitive to initial conditions and attunement, but more than just about anything…timing matters. The complexity of our organism that exists in its cycles of UPs and DOWNS (circadian, cellular, respiratory sinus arrythmia) is simplified just enough to recognize and facilitate the cycles that sync. Out of sync is out of sorts. Sync is the return to living. Like easy breathing in, and out…

The client’s readiness is a way we think about attunement—working within the range of the client’s readiness. Attunement is typically thought of as emotional attunement. Organic Intelligence teaches attunement as a clinical assessment of biological readiness. This ‘readiness’ becomes visible in the client’s Image, Sensation, Orientation, Meaning and Affect (ISOMA). These ISOMA Channels reveal thresholds of intensity that the client is ready to receive—or not. Such careful attunement helps the clinician/coach actually SEE states that reflect self-organizing trends and stay away from intensity levels that could otherwise be disorganizing. We’ll learn about thresholds, and OI’s surprising positive intensity ethos: “The Window of Enjoyment.”

Key questions are raised by therapists and coaches about how to integrate OI’s Post-Trauma Growth methodology. In OI, questions are appreciated, because the mapping of therapeutic interventions is a large-scale clinical mapping of organic developmental stages. Your application of therapeutic ideas to specific client situations is aided by the OI Attunement map, which clarifies what interventions are attuned for clients’ level of biological resilience and organization—from chaotic, to self-regulating, to auto-regulating. Attunement means the proper, and particular, therapeutic stance for each of these.

The Bonus resources include an hourlong interview with OI Founder, Steve Hoskinson, that is a very approachable overview of the Organic Intelligence framework. Additionally, there are two worksheets that distill some of the key concepts and provide easy-to-use exercises that give an experiential understanding of how we build organic resilience. These resources help make this course practical and experiential—and an unforgettable, perhaps even life-changing experience!

Start Using Your Tools Right Away!

Practical Skills You Will Learn & Use

Fundamentals of Post-Trauma Growth will help you be more confident with clients because your clients will realize immediate benefit. Especially in the early going, the PTG teachings on Orientation, enhanced Attunement, and empowerment create ease in stabilization—which might help you rest easier too!

Applied Orientation

How to apply OI’s Orientation both personally and professionally—and in sync with the client’s readiness!

Positive Reinforcement

Empower healing and growth of biological bandwidth through a clearly structured Positive Reinforcement paradigm. Growth of bandwidth means increased processing capacity, problem solving ability, and appreciation for complexity.

Enhanced Attunement

How to use enhanced Attunement for co-regulation based on OI maps and nuanced clinical observations of the client’s verbal and non-verbal presentation.

Resilience & Prosilience

How to distinguish Orientation from other processes of effortful attention. Organicity is key—the enjoyable experience of allowing a natural process instead of always controlling things.

Integration & Processing

Integration and processing begin to happen organically, fostering Post-Trauma Growth and reducing burnout. It’s amazing what it’s like to hear clients come back to a session having a new lived experience of a new level of freedom…

Hope & Growth

Hope and growth are based in the trust that is built when clients feel you’re more deeply with them, and that their changes come from a place within them they’ve not felt before. It’s empowering, and the best we can offer those in our care.
